Caleb Mountain
We named our Colorado homestead, “Caleb Mountain,” to honor every promise God has fulfilled in our lives. Here’s the story . . .
In the Holy Scriptures, Caleb, Joshua, and ten other spies went into the Land of Canaan on a reconnaissance mission directed by God.
They said, ”The land we passed through and explored is exceedingly good. If the LORD is pleased with us, he will lead us into that land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and will give it to us. Only do not rebel against the LORD.” —Numbers 14:7-9 (NIV)
Ten spies returned filled with fear and unbelief. Caleb and Joshua stood firm in faith, hope and obedience to follow God.
God said, "But because my servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will inherit it.” —Numbers 14:24 (NIV)
Give Me This Mountain!
Caleb said, “Just as the LORD promised, he has kept me alive for forty-five years ... so here I am today, eighty-five years old! I am still as strong today as the day Moses sent me out; I’m just as vigorous to go out to battle now as I was then. Now give me this mountain,
that the LORD promised me that day.”
—Joshua 14:10-12 (NIV, KJV)
Like Caleb, God has sent us out on some bold missions. Like Caleb, we committed to remain strong in faith, hope, and obedience to follow God, and to put on the Armor of God and “stand” battle-ready.
Our Battle Cry
“But we are certainly not those who are held back by fear and perish; we are among those who have faith and experience true life!.”
—Hebrews 10:39 (TPT)
Though we are not yet eighty-five years old, we claim that we are still as strong today as the first day God sent us out. God heard the desires of our hearts for our final years, and He gave us our mountain.
At Caleb Mountain, we celebrate God’s Goodness, listen to His voice, welcome the Holy Spirit, and live Redeemed in the Resurrection Power of Jesus.
11/15/24 Welcome to Caleb Mountain . . .
Welcome to your first peak inside my daily life at Caleb Mountain! Our homestead is located in a wonderful farming & ranching community in Colorado. We enjoy wonderful views of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range.
It snowed all last week and we got about 20” at our place.
Meet the love of my life, my brave and handsome husband Curtis, Maximus Braveheart—Maine Coon, and Maverick “Boo” Mitchell—Mackerel Tabby. Mav rescued all of us when he took shelter under our shed during a snow storm last winter. Last, but not least, the girls.
We are dog lovers as well, and still grieve our precious Barney—Rescue, Saint Bernard and Australian Shepherd Mix, and Rainy Day—Red Heeler a.k.a. Australian Cattle Dog.
With love from our family to yours!
